Your Responsibilities
You will shape KLU's communications across all relevant external and internal channels at a leading international business school with campuses in Hamburg, Saigon/Vietnam, and soon also Africa and Latin America. You will work closely with colleagues from administration and research and be part of a small international team that supports and represents each other.
- Press and media relations: identifying topics, story pitches, press releases, maintaining contacts with journalists and the media, placing content in our target media
- Strategic and operational support for the external positioning of the KLU president (podcasts, interviews, events, guest contributions, thought leadership)
- Establishing and maintaining internal communication (intranet, etc.)
- Producing content (text, images, audio) for our communication channels (e.g., newsroom, blogs, newsletters)
- Advising university members on communication issues
- Coordinating external service providers
- Willingness to occasionally provide editorial support for evening and weekend events
Your qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in communications, editing, PR, journalism, or comparable fields
- Talent for writing, excellent command of language, and excellent English and German skills
- Strong editorial judgment and a keen sense for topics, tones, and target groups
- Enjoyment of press relations and actively positioning people and topics; desirable: network of relevant media contacts
- Confident manner, proactive approach, and a high degree of ownership and hands-on mentality
- Desire for trusting teamwork, including mutual representation in projects and formats
